NOTICE TO CHESHIRE F & S OR VILLAGE OIL CUSTOMERS
Due to the sudden closing of the F & S and Village Oil companies, Cheshire Youth & Social Services staff will be available to meet with any Cheshire residents who are former customers of F & S or Village Oil to provide a referral list of oil companies and discuss other available options. Customers who participated in the Energy Assistance program may qualify for a partial oil payment through the Cheshire Fuel Bank. 2008 SPRING LEAF DISPOSAL SCHEDULE

Mr. Joseph Michelangelo, Director of Public Works announces that the Town will be providing a container for the disposal of LEAVES ONLY at the Solid Waste Disposal Facility located at 1286 Waterbury Road to accommodate Cheshire residents who wish to dispose of leaves in the Spring. Residents must show proof of residency by presenting a valid CT driver’s license at the Gatehouse prior to entrance into the Transfer Station.

Leaves must be placed in paper biodegradable bags or removed and deposited loose from any plastic bag or container. Leaves may not be deposited while still in plastic bags. This provision will be strictly enforced.

Leaves only may be placed in these bags. No other yard debris or grass clippings will be accepted.

There is no charge for this service. The container will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the following Saturdays: April 12th, April 26, May 10th and May 24th, 2008.



CONTAINER BEING PROVIDED FOR
RESIDENTIAL GRASS CLIPPINGS

The Town of Cheshire is again providing a container at the Solid Waste Disposal Facility at 1286 Waterbury Road for disposal of residential grass clippings only. Disposal by commercial operations is not permitted.

Residents must empty grass clippings out of any bag or container that is not made of paper and biodegradable. The fee is $1.00 for up to every six (6) bags emptied. This service will be available from Saturday, April 26, 2008 through Saturday, November 8, 2008, during normal Solid Waste Disposal Facility hours (the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).

Additionally, the Transfer Station will be open every Monday morning from Monday, April 28, 2008 through Monday, November 3, 2008 for grass collection. Residents may bring grass clippings to the Solid Waste Disposal Facility from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (excluding May 26, 2008 and September 1, 2008). No change will be available for Monday disposal, so residents are requested to have the exact change.
