Beginning February 1, 2018, applications for all forms of Building Permits will be submitted online by logging in to https://cheshirect.viewpointcloud.com/
Once the necessary application and payment has been completed and submitted electronically, the application will be processed by the Building Official and all other relevant departments. The applicant will be able to track the status of the application online throughout the process, and will receive timely requests for missing or additional information. Upon completion of the project and submission of all required paperwork and information, a Certificate of Occupancy (COs) can be downloaded electronically by the applicant.
This program is designed to simplify the building permitting process for homeowners and contractors. It also offers the convenience of submitting documents electronically rather than making a trip, or multiple trips, to Town offices. It is expected to reduce the processing time to issue permits and COs.
Applicants who do not have access to a computer may come to the Building Official’s office to apply on the two terminals that are provided to the public for this purpose and can pay by check or cash if they choose; there is a minimal fee for electronic payments. The Building staff will be available for questions and assistance as needed.
