ART HEALS PROGRAM
Joan Pilarczyk, Artplace Art Director, announces an innovative new program called "Art Heals" for Cheshire adult homebound residents. Art seems to have a healing impact on the spirit. So while a diagnosis of breast cancer, leukemia, a broken hip or another health challenge can leave on housebound...being creative can give one new enthusiasm for life!
"Art Heals" will provide an Artsplace teacher to visit individuals in their own homes and teach a series of art lessons. Clients may request a media of their choice. Possibilities include colored pencils, drawing lessons, pastels, pen & ink, mask-making, acrylics or more. No experience is necessary. The art classes take place with assistance from "Friends of CPFA/Artsplace". Artsplace is now accepting requests to join this program.
The lessons will last approximately an hour and a half and may continue for 4 to 6 weeks. Clients will also receive one piece of their completed artwork professionally framed. There is no charge for the program. Please call Artsplace at 272-2787 to offer a referral, or to request more information. No prior art experience is necessary. All supplies are included.
Donations can be made to "Friends of CPFA/Artsplace, Inc." to support the "Art Heals" program. Contact Bonnie Dillemuth at 272-3998.
