DOG LICENSES

Residents must license their dogs six months and older through the Town Clerk's office per State of Connecticut regulations.  You may obtain a dog license in person or by mail.  You will need:

  • A certificate or bill from the veterinarian showing current rabies vaccination and its expiration date.  This is the only acceptable proof of rabies vaccination.
  • A veterinarian certificate or bill showing that the dog has been neutered or spayed; otherwise, the non-altered fee will be charged.
  • Cash or check only for the fee , which is $8.00 for a spayed/neutered dog, or $19.00 for an unaltered dog.

Licenses must be renewed annually in June.  A penalty of $1.00 per month is charged for late licensing or renewals.
