| Bartlem Recreation Area |

BARTLEM RECREATION AREA
Located on Route 10 across from Cheshire High School, Bartlem Recreation Area was named for the Town’s first Recreation director, Richard C. Bartlem who served as Director from 1968-1993. Park amenities include the Community Pool, a 90 foot baseball diamond, soccer, lacrosse, “Kids In Motion” playscape, a pavilion, picnic area, community gardens and skate park.
DIRECTIONS:
FROM HARTFORD AND NORTH: VIA I-91 Take I-91 South to Exit 18 onto I-691 West. Take Exit 3 to the end. Turn left onto Route 10 South. Travel approximately 5 miles to the park entrance on the left across from Cheshire High School.
VIA I-84 Take I-84 West to Exit 27 onto I-691 East. Take Exit 3 to the end. Turn right onto Route 10 South. Travel approximately 5 miles to the park entrance on the left across from Cheshire High School.
FROM NEW HAVEN AND SOUTH: VIA I-91 Take I-91 North to Exit 10. Take Rt. 40 connector to end. Turn right onto Rt. 10 North. Travel approximately 6 miles to the park entrance on the left across from Cheshire High School.
VIA I-15 Take I-15 North to Exit 61. Turn right at end of ramp onto Whitney Avenue which becomes Rt. 10 North. Travel approximately 7.5 miles to the park entrance on the right across from Cheshire High School.
FROM WATERBURY AND WEST: VIA I-84 Take I-84 East to Exit 26 onto Rt. 70. Travel approximately 4 miles to traffic light (Getty Station on corner). Turn right at light onto Main Street. Travel .3 miles. Turn right at light onto Route 10 South. Travel approximately 1 mile to the park entrance on the left across from Cheshire High School.

CHESHIRE PARK
Located on Route 10 toward the Cheshire/Southington town line, this large park has 75 acres, of which 25% are set aside for active recreation and the park has a basketball court, softball fields, a pavilion, picnic area, theater and tennis courts.

| Farmington Canal Linear Park |

FARMINGTON CANAL LINEAR PARK
The 2.9 mile Linear Park was dedicated May 22, 1994 and was designed to create a safe place for fitness activities along the Farmington Canal including walking, bicycling, running, in-line skating, cross country skiing and a place for people with disabilities.

| Lock 12 Historical Park |

LOCK 12 HISTORICAL PARK
Located on North Brooksvale road along the Linear Park, Lock 12 contains a pavilion, picnic area, a restored 150 year old canal lock (one of the original Farmington Canal’s locks) and a museum which is open by appointment only.

Located at 550 Wiese Road, this park consists of baseball fields, a basketball court and a playground.

MIXVILLE RECREATION AREA
Located on Notch Road near the Cheshire/Prospect town line, this park has two pavilions, picnic areas, a beach with swimming and fishing in Mixville Pond. Sledding is available when the weather permits.

Located on Cheshire Street, this 59 acre park offers soccer, lacrosse, a pavilion, picnic area and an in-line skating rink.

Located off Mountain Road, this area is a natural area with nature trails, a diversity of habitat, wild flowers and a water course that falls 80 feet.

| Skate Park |

SKATE PARK at BARTLEM RECREATION AREA
Hours: Dawn to Dusk Season: Open Year Round Cost: Free The Cheshire Skate Park is an unmonitored recreational facility. All users will be participating at their own risk. Protective equipment including helmets, kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards are highly recommended. No bikes are allowed inside the Skate Park. If the gate is locked the park is closed to the public. Call the Parks & Recreation office at 272-2743 for more information.
