CHESHIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Cheshire Police Department works to ensure and protect the safety and welfare of all Cheshire residents and visitors to maintain and enhance the quality of life. The department is comprised of five divisions with 49 sworn officers, five civilian dispatchers, four civilian administrative personnel, one full-time and one part-time Municipal Animal Control staff.

NOTICE OF JOB POSTING, January 30, 2012 - The Town of Cheshire, Connecticut is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must be 21 years of age, and will be required to successfully complete a written exam, an oral interview, a thorough background investigation; polygraph, psychological, and physical exams; and a physical agility test, which is scheduled for March 15, 2012. Valid C.H.I.P. cards dated September 15, 2011 or later will be accepted in substitution.

Salary range: Police Trainee, $44,473 to Police Officer V, $64,985. Additional incentives offered.
