The Cheshire Police Department works to ensure and protect the safety and welfare of all Cheshire residents and visitors to maintain and enhance the quality of life.  The department is comprised of five divisions with 49 sworn officers, five civilian dispatchers, four civilian administrative personnel, and two Animal Control officers.

West Main Street/Linear Trail Pedestrian Crosswalk Signal Installed  

The High intensity Activated crossWalK (H.A.W.K.) is a pedestrian-activated beacon utilized at approaches to major intersections.  This special type of hybrid beacon is used to warn and control traffic and is intended to assist pedestrians in crossing a street or highway at a marked crosswalk.
