INVESTIGATIVE DIVISION
The Investigative Division is a support function to the Patrol Division. These detectives handle all major investigations. These investigations are usually very in-depth and lengthy. These detectives are assigned so the patrol officers can be available to handle emergency calls for service. Detective Captain Bob Vignola is the Investigative Commander. The division is staffed by Detective Sergeant Thomas Bobok, Detective Dennis Boucher, Detective Kerry Nastri, Detective Joseph Vitello, Youth Officer, Detective Ruben Morales and DARE/SRO Officer Mark Ecke.
Detectives assigned to this division are trained in crime scene processing, video and photographic techniques, evidence collection, interview and interrogation skills, as well as numerous other related specialties. Collectively the members of the Investigative division have in excess of 130 years of Police work.
The detectives assigned to Investigative Services have successfully handled almost every type of crime imaginable including homicides, armed robberies, embezzlements, burglaries and sexual assaults. These detectives maintain contacts with all other law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Secret Service, and the Connecticut State Police. They also meet monthly with detectives from area departments to exchange information in order to facilitate the apprehension of those individuals responsible for committing crimes in Cheshire.
