HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENT
Town of Cheshire Director of Public Works, Joseph Michelangelo, P.E., wishes to inform residents that there will be an opportunity for Town of Cheshire residents to dispose of hazardous waste items/toxic materials.
This program is being sponsored by Hazwaste Central and will be held at the Cheshire Transfer Station Area, 1286 Waterbury Road, on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Residents must show a CT Driver’s License with a Cheshire address as proof of residency in order to be able to take advantage of this program. Materials must be in original containers and securely closed. Residents must pack containers in sturdy upright boxes and pad them with newspapers, if necessary. Residents are cautioned not to smoke or eat while handling hazardous materials. Any leaking or broken containers must be contained. Residents must not mix chemicals together. Please note this is a household collection and the vendor reserves the right to refuse unidentified materials and unreasonably large amounts of hazardous waste.
