NOTICE TO PAY SEWER USE CHARGE

NOTICE: Rate of $305.00 Set for Sewer Use

The Town of Cheshire charges an annual fee to residential, commercial, and industrial entities that are connected to the sewer system. This past year, the Town opted to delay sending out these bills while a comprehensive sewer use rate study was being conducted. However, due to the complexity of this study, it will take many more months to complete. Consequently, we cannot delay billing any longer and at this time must proceed with the sewer use billing. The Water Pollution Control Authority held a public hearing on January 23, 2008, after which a sewer rate was set for the period from December 1, 2007 to November 30, 2008. The Town is prepared to mail sewer use bills for the MARCH 1, 2008 due date. Residential customers shall be billed the flat rate of $305.00 and commercial and industrial customers will be charged according to their actual water usage, as in past years. If the results of the study warrant a change in billing or the method thereof, these changes will take place in a future billing cycle.

The Sewer Use charge may be paid anytime during the month of MARCH 2008 without interest penalty.

The Tax Office, located at Town Hall, 84 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410, is open between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays.
