DISPOSAL of LIMBS from 2018 Winter Storms

On Saturday, March 24, residents may bring tree limbs/brush to the former transfer station, 1304 Waterbury Road (Route 70).  The facility will be open for drop off between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  This is for residential drop-off only; proof of residency will be requested.




During the spring, summer, and fall, the Town of Cheshire provides a container at 1304 Waterbury Road (adjacent to the Town Garage) for disposal of residential grass clippings.  Please note that no other items will be accepted.  Disposal by commercial operations is not permitted.


Residents must empty grass clippings out of the bag or container.  The fee is $1.00 for up to every six (6) bags emptied.  Please bring exact change. 


The 2018 dates will be available in late April.




For several weeks in November and December, residents may bring leaves in biodegradable bags for disposal at 1304 Waterbury Road (adjacent to the Public Works Garage) on Monday mornings from 7:30-8:30 AM.  There is no charge.


There is also a leaf collection during the same time period.  Leaves must be placed curbside in biodegradable bags before 7:00 AM Mondays for pick-up by the Public Works Department according to the following schedule. 


The 2018 schedule will be available in October.




On one Saturday in January, residents may drop off their natural Christmas trees at 1304 Waterbury Road (Route 70)  from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  Only Christmas trees are accepted and proof of residency may be requested.  There is no charge.


On the same day, the Cheshire Marching Ram Band conducts curbside tree pickup as a fundraiser (www.RamBand.com).


The 2018 date will be available in December.
