The next scheduled collection delay is Monday, May 29, 2017 (Memorial Day). Collections will be delayed one day that week.
The following holidays always cause a one-day trash/recycle collection delay: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day.
The following holidays cause a one-day trash/recycle delay IF they fall on a weekday: New Year's Day (January 1), Independence Day (July 4), Christmas Day (December 25).
Recycle containers are assigned to each residence. They should be placed curbside with the grab bar to the street. The lid must close. If recycles regularly exceed the capacity of the container, please contact the Public Works Department (203-271-6650) to request another container.
Residents provide their own cans for refuse collections and are reminded that the trash collection trucks are NOT automated, so cans need to be a size that can easily be picked up.
Please click to download a PDF file of the current trash collection schedule.
Keep in mind that trash can be picked up as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m. In addition, the pick-up time may vary from week to week. We urge residents to put items out for collection the night before scheduled pick up to ensure that pick up is not missed.
During the winter months, trash/recycle collection may be delayed; please be patient. Please keep containers clear of snow/ice and safely accessible for collection.
Call Public Works at 203-271-6650 to report any problems or missed pick ups.
