The office is open all year Monday-Friday 9a.m. - 3p.m.
Deadlines: There is a one-week deadline for registering prior to an election and any mail-in registrations must be postmarked on or before that date. The only option for registering after the deadline is Election Day Registration at the Town Hall, which we recommend only as a last resort because of the much longer time it takes to process your application. Election Day Registration is not available during primaries and referenda.
If you become a U.S. Citizen, move into town, or turn 18 the week before election day, the deadline for registering in person does not apply and you may register in person at our office.
It's easy to register to vote in our state all year ~
You must be a registered voter in Cheshire in order to vote in Cheshire, whether in person or by absentee ballot. For the convenience of our residents, the Registrars of Voters hold special registration sessions throughout the year. The date, time, and location of these sessions are posted on the main page for VOTING AND ELECTIONS.
The polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. at all election events.
To determine where you vote, please check the Districts and Poll Locations (note that certain address numbers on the same street may determine your district & polling place: A=all numbers; E=even numbers; O=odd numbers).
