YOUTH AND FAMILY COUNSELING services are provided to Cheshire residents through individual, family, and group therapy sessions to school aged children and their families at no fee.  Referrals are received from the schools, alternative school programs, police department, juvenile probation, Connecticut Department of Children and Families, clergy, parents, peers, and young people themselves.  Clients are seen either in the Town Hall or at the school setting.  Our philosophy and our goal is to work with family units to enable them to remain healthy and intact.

Counseling sessions can be scheduled during the day or in the evening.  For more information or to make a referral or an appointment, please contact the Youth and Social Services Department at 203 271-6690.  Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but you may leave a message at any time, and staff is available at other times by appointment.

The Town of Cheshire Human Services Department offers internships in Youth and Family Counseling for student pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Counseling.  Contact Director Michelle Piccerillo for more information.
