The Cheshire Parks and Recreation Department manages the Town's Parks  and offers a wide variety of events, classes, and activities to the residents of Cheshire.  The department also schedules pavilion rentals and field use at the six major park facilities and the room at the Youth Center.   • Marching Orders for the Memorial Day Parade have been emailed to all participants. 
  • Our Spring-Summer 2022 brochure was mailed to all Cheshire residents and is available for download now.
  • Summer Camp Registration is underway! All campers ages 4 through grade 8 are welcome to attend Mixville Adventure Camp. Attend for a traditional camp day (9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.), just the morning (9:00 a.m.-12:00p.m.), just the afternoon (12:00p.m.-3:30p.m.) or spend the whole day (7:00a.m.-6:00p.m.)! Use camper's age/grade as of September 1, 2022. Campers who attend the Board of Education's Summer Enrichment classes at Highland School will be bused from Highland to Mixville to join the afternoon session of Mixville Adventure Camp.
  • Weather related cancellations will be posted as the need arises. We also post cancellations on our social media pages. If Cheshire Public Schools are operating on a delayed opening or are closed for the weather, then our programs beginning before 10:00 a.m. are automatically cancelled.

League Information

At a glance:

  • The Boys Grades 6-8 league playoff schedule has been updated.
  • To view schedules and team assignments, expand the bar with your child's league and click the links.

General Rules:

  • No food or drink is allowed in the gym.
  • Players are encouraged to bring labeled water bottles for water breaks, but they will be required to leave their drinks in the hallway in a designated location.
  • No street shoes are allowed on the gym floors. Players should bring a clean pair of sneakers to change into before entering the gym.
  • Basketball participants and guests are only allowed access to the gym and should not be in any other areas of the schools.

COVID-19 Precautions and Guidelines:

  • Effective Thursday, March 3, 2022, masks are no longer required for participants, volunteers, guests and employees during Parks & Recreation Programs. We continue to welcome mask wearing by all individuals who choose to do so.
  • If your child or someone else in your home is not feeling well, do not come to basketball.
  • If your child or someone else in your home has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days, do not come to basketball.
  • If your child is in quarantine due to a COVID-19 exposure, including if they are attending school under the Screen & Stay protocol, they may not attend basketball.
  • If your child tests positive for COVID-19 within a few days of attending basketball, please notify us so we can take the necessary steps. Send an email including your child's full name, grade and team to Elizabeth Mayne, Program Supervisor at [email protected] Thank you.
