2024 Elections Connecticut’s presidential preference primary – the election in which political party members choose candidates to run for president in November – has been moved to Tuesday April 2. Because only party members may vote in primary elections, voters wishing to change enrollment from one party to another must do so three months before election day. This transfer of enrollment deadline for the 2024 presidential preference primary is Tuesday January 2 (anyone currently registered as “unaffiliated” may enroll in a party until April 1, but doing so earlier is recommended). If you are unsure about your party registration, you can find your record online on the Secretary of the State’s Voter Registration Lookup (link below) or call our office at (203) 271-6680. Early Voting for the presidential preference primary begins on March 26. Absentee ballot applications are available from the Town Clerk’s office one month prior to every election.
