In-Ground Sprinklers

Underground irrigation/sprinklers are not permitted in the Town's Right of Way, a strip of land that runs along all public streets.

Contractors should be able to install irrigation lines behind the Right of Way.  Exact Right of Way positions vary from street to street; the Town Clerk's office can provide maps showing measurements.

If it is necessary for the irrigation lines to encroach into the Right of Way, a Waiver of Claim must be filed with the Public Works Department, to be attached to the land record, prior to installation.

It is not the Town's responsibility to repair irrigation lines in the Right of Way, even if they are damaged during the Town's snow removal operations, sidewalk repair, or road improvement work.
